All right, here we go. Anthropic is back with another huge model release. Opus 5.5 is officially dropped, as an answer to GPT-6-Astra. The benchmarks certainly reflect that. They are quite a step up, even beating out Fable 5.1. So in this video, we're going to quickly cover those benchmarks, everything that's new, and then of course, put Opus 5.5 to the test with four live builds: a pixel-for-pixel clone of an award-winning site, a clone of another real brand's website, game development, and a 3D product page. We'll compare Opus 5.5 to Fable 5.1 and to GPT-6-Astra, so you'll really have a good sense of if it's worth it when it comes to cost and efficiency and just how well the model performs overall. So let's get right into it, like we always do, and we're going to kick it off with this bash command. That's going to spawn a bunch of terminal windows, across all these builds. We've got them humming. We have an awards clone, we have another clone of a beautiful-looking site, we have a RollerCoaster Tycoon clone, and then a fun one with this Adidas shoe, that we're going to have it mock up in 3D with Blender, and then actually embed into a website. And of course, while that's building, we've got to go to the benchmarks, but I made a fun little interactive tool with Opus 5.5 here, where I can scroll, and we've got this nice little pop-up. Look at this. Opus 5.5, made this in like two prompts. Very cool. And so it explains all these, I have a nice little callout now, so I don't need to go to slides or try to zoom in on this and try to highlight this. I can actually call this out and explain, uh, what all of this is. So let's do it, let's get into it. So, from the top, and by the way, great web design, great branding, per usual from Anthropic. Oh, look at this. I mean, look at this reveal, and they've got this nice little text animation, bah-boom. I love the images they selected, the grain, I mean, Anthropic knows what they're doing, when it comes to branding. So, here we go, Claude Opus 5.5. So first thing to call out is just the cost. So, it is $4 per million input tokens, $20 per million output, compared to Opus 5, which was $5 per million input and $25 per million output. So it is cheaper than Opus 5, and Anthropic estimates it's about a 40% cost reduction, because there's just so much more efficient. Opus 5.5 is finishing the job just using fewer tokens than Opus 5. So that's where they're estimating it's about 40% less. So of course, it makes absolutely no sense to use Opus 5 again. Not only that, I mean, it's incredibly cheaper than Claude Fable 5.1, and when we look at the benchmarks here in a second, it is basically outperforming Fable on everything. You can see they even say here, it performs at the level of Fable 5.1 on most work. So, just scrolling right down, another note on cost is cache reads are actually cheaper too. It was previously 50 cents in Opus 5, now it's 20 cents. So it's getting much cheaper when it comes to this agentic and these long-running coding tasks, because these tokens, of course, are being cached and it's at a much cheaper cost. They even say it's it's faster too. So, a big cost savings, way more efficient, way faster across the board than Opus 5, which isn't a total surprise. In addition, they mention that they're actually increasing their 5-hour usage limits on all of the different subscriptions, which thank goodness, because it was getting ridiculous. I don't know about you, I was hitting usage limits in like a couple hours. I mean, it it was just absurd. I had at one point, 1.3 different Claude subscriptions, I still have those, don't tell Anthropic, because I was just getting maxed out everywhere. It it was absurd. And this all kind of stems from, at least I think so, I think they're doing this, well, first to just increase the demand, make it available to more people, and kind of leverage this promotion, but also because they got in some hot water because they said that they were increasing usage limits at the end of August, when in actuality, a promotion was ending on that same day, that had expanded usage limits previously. So it was like a 50% bump in the promo, once that was over, they said, "Oh, we're going to increase it by 25%." So it was really not a net increase. Here's the announcement, by the way. People cleared it up, people jumped on them on X, Anthropic's comms team needs a little bit of work. And then they say, first it says an increase, then they say this works out to a 17% reduction, so nice nice one there. But at least, you know, they're kind of listening to the complaints or at least I think so, this could be a kind of a marketing vehicle. Either way, this is good for us. We have a 5-hour usage limit increase. Another call out is the way Opus communicates, seems to be more natural, or at least this is what the Anthropic is claiming, where I know this for Opus 5 and even Fable, it was just so verbose, so it looks like it's, you know, prioritizing putting the most important information up front, but in terms of actually communicating and responding to you in chat on what it did, just in day-to-day task, it seems to be much more clear, less verbose. There's even an example down here, where they show a sample of communication here. So, "Please explain the issue to me." This is Opus 5, incredibly verbose, all sorts of nonsense. This is Opus 5.5, much more clear. So that is a nice added benefit, but getting back up to the top here, and then we're getting into performance and cost-effectiveness across all these different benchmarks. Now an important note here, because you're about to see these benchmarks and be very surprised that again, they've cannibalized Fable 5.1. However, Anthropic states here that this gap between Opus 5.5 and Claude Fable 5.1 is narrower than the benchmarks suggest. So just keep that in mind, as we go through these, that Fable 5.1 may still be a better model across a few things, but we will see, too, when we start putting it to the test in these builds. So, let's actually get into these benchmarks. First up, we have agentic coding, Terminal Bench 4.0. I just put in these tests, too, just so you know what each of these are, but basically this one is the AI is getting a command line and just has to finish a job in multiple steps. Opus 5.5, 66%, Fable 5.1, 55%, Astra, 57.9%. So a sizable bump from Fable 5.1, 11 percentage points. And then some more coding tasks here, we've got Frontier Code, which is a measurement of code good enough to merge into a real project, where the model will go into an open source project, take a task, run with it, then a person will evaluate if this code is merge-worthy. Agentic coding, 54% from Opus 5.5, a four percentage point bump from Fable 5.1, 50%. Opus 48, Astra 53.3%. So it's narrowly beating out Astra on Frontier Code as well, and then Cursor Bench, GPT-6-Astra is missing here, but another bump from Fable 5.1, about six percentage points. Knowledge work, too, where Fable 5.1 really excelled. Opus 5.5, just absolutely crushing it. And this GDP-Val, by the way, is just office work across a number of different jobs. So tasks like slide decks, spreadsheets, data analysis, all that kind of stuff, and a human is evaluating this. Then we have Automation Bench, which Astra excelled at, looks like it's still beating out Opus 5.5. Looks like there was some safety issues. Zapier, who runs this test, added every time Anthropic's safety system didn't run the automation, Zapier they counted this as a failure. So, that might be the reason why it's a little bit lower. Regardless, very close to Astra on Automation Bench, actually running these business-type automations, then we've got Humanities Last Exam, a sizable bump from GPT-6-Astra and just a little bump from Fable 5.1. Scientific Research, and then we have Computer Use as well. Let's talk about Computer Use here in a second, because I don't know why they don't include Astra, because Astra definitely had this published, but computer use, 81.8% compared to Fable 5.1, so just a little bit better at using a computer, doing long jobs on a computer, and then just an ability to actually read charts from chartography, which I'm not familiar with, but reading difficult charts and interpreting them. So a little bump from Fable 5.1, or Opus 5.5. And then I just included this, you can see how Opus 5.5 built this. It like embedded this right in the blog post, which is pretty cool. This is not from Anthropic. But I wanted to see all these other benchmarks, because like some of these are just conveniently being missed, or they're saying Astra didn't have a score when it did. So OS World, for example, with computer use. Remember how good Astra was at computer use, and how much OpenAI leaned into that in their marketing? Well, it looks like it's beating Astra now by almost 9 percentage points. Opus 5.5 is. Pretty impressive. And then there's some other things that are just missing here, I would've liked to see, you know, ARC AGI, Agents Last Exam, because it doesn't look like there's any scores yet. BenchCAD, I was really curious, because I want to see how Opus 5.5 does with 3D work, because honestly, it has a lot of fun, and Astra was really good at 3D, coming in at 95.9% on BenchCAD, but there's no score for Opus 5.5. DeepSwee, no score yet, and then just some more tests from Artificial Analysis, and then on Artificial Analysis, as well, Opus 5.5 is beating out all the other models across Artificial Analysis's intelligence index. So there's Opus 5.5 at the top, there's just different effort levels, extra high, max, high, and then we have Fable 5.1 at max, and there's Astra down there. So, that is all the benchmarks. You can see that Opus 5.5 is more or less crushing Fable 5.1 and GPT-6-Astra across the board on a lot of these different tests. So, Anthropic has found themselves in this kind of interesting situation now, where Opus 5.5 is not only cheaper and more efficient, but it's also just as good, if not better than Fable 5.1. And then they have this broken out on these coding tasks, for example, across different effort levels, scores here, but you can see, Opus 5.5 is at the top, Astra is here, and then Fable 5.1 is in green here, so you can see on any effort level, almost any effort level, but on on high, it's beating all the other models on medium, it's almost beating all the other models. And then agentic coding, this was interesting, so it performed best on medium effort level, this is the defaults for Anthropic, and you can see it just got worse, at least on Frontier coding, we get to high and extra high. So, notable call up, but then you can see here, on Cursor Bench, same thing, another coding test, it doesn't have Astra here, but it's a sizable difference compared to Fable 5.1 across all these different effort levels. I think that's everything I wanted to call in the benchmarks. I wanted to touch on these a bit more here's some knowledge work stuff, just because this is such a big jump from Fable 5.1, it's worth understanding where Anthropic is claiming Opus 5.5 is excelling, and to me, at least from the benchmarks, it seems like an a no-brainer to use Opus 5.5 in most of your work. But let's see how true these benchmarks actually hold up. Uh, and let's get into the builds. All right, so we've got one build done for the Awwwards clone, so we're going to take a look at that and do our typical blind reveal in Simmons Bench here. So we have the three outputs for each of these three models, Opus 5.5, Fable 5.1, GPT-6-Astra, I don't know which model it is, we're going to reveal that, we're just going to blind rank each of these. And for this test, we are going with the classic, if you watch these videos before, you'll be familiar with this prompt, but this is an Awwwards winning site, cloning it pixel for pixel. So in the prompt, I'm saying, go to Awwwards, pick a winning site that you find genuinely impressive, rebuild it pixel for pixel, I have this clone app Pat Pro skill, that'll just give an agent directions on how to clone a website. It looks in the code, it takes a bunch of screenshots, so this whole QA, I'll include this skill in the link below, as well as this prompt and all of these different generations. So we're testing the models' ability to analyze creativity, more or less, as well as recreating something, how well it does. And it gives us good ideas, you know, for just like building out sites and seeing what the models are actually capable of. So, let's do it, let's take a look at column A.
