One month ago I launched a brand new business and with a brand new business comes a brand new website. Now after one month we've got some data back and we can start doing some SEO we can even build these SEO dashboards with the key numbers in plain English and in today's video I want to show you exactly how I'm using Claude to help me rank at the top of Google and show up in AI tools. Think of this as your AI SEO mini course we're going to go through everything step-by-step super easy follow along. So we're going to connect up the right data sources so AI doesn't just guess and make things up. We're going to build an SEO project in Claude that's grounded in your business and acts as your SEO expert. We're going to create a critical context document that every prompt and every AI assistant reading your site works from. We're going to list all the buyer questions that your site never answers and exactly what to add to improve conversions. We're going to build a full SEO and AI search audit and rank the top 10 fixes. We're going to build a strategy for your money pages, your top-level authority blog plan, and a 30-day plan. We're going to start executing with Claude, so you can hand the grunt work over and finish off by building your live SEO dashboard like I've got here, which just pulls the key numbers from the key tools so you don't have to figure out how to use Google Analytics or any other system. It even gives you some weekly actions to take on your website to improve your rankings as well.
Now let's jump into step one, and most people skip this and it dooms the rest of your work because AI just ends up guessing. The first thing we need to do is actually set up your connectors, so Claude can pull the right information from the right places. Most people, they'll go into Claude here and they'll say, "Hey can you do an SEO audit on my website, please?" Claude might go off and do it, but it's not able to pull any data from the right tools, it's not actually able to access the web properly, so it probably just ends up making things up or just being inaccurate in how it gives you the information. So, the first thing I want you to do is go into the sidebar here and go to "Customize". When you go to "Customize" I want you to click "Connectors" and we want to add some very specific connectors. Now the first one I want to add is one called "Composio". Composio is really important because it gives your AI secure access to thousands more apps than Claude already has. The big problem with Claude is, if we try and type in Google Analytics, for example, it doesn't have a Google Analytics connector. If we try typing in Google Search Console, which is one of the best free AI tools from Google, they don't exist. So we actually need to give away for Claude to access these tools, one being Google Analytics here and two being Google Search Console here. I'll actually put some links in the documentation below if you want to actually set these up because you haven't set up Google Search Console or Google Analytics, but we want to make sure we've got Google Search Console and Google Analytics running. Then we want to get Composio. Now, Composio is this middleware connector that gives you access to way more tools. In Composio we can click "Apps" and we can search, we can say Google Analytics and here we go, we can connect up Google Analytics. You can go "Connect" here and it's going to just authorize into your Google account and connect everything up here. So now we've connected Google Analytics to Composio, we can do the same for Google Search Console as well. If we go to "Search Console", we can click Google Search Console, you can go "Connect" again, I've already connected mine up and again it just uses like Google's authentication login so it's super easy to do.
The next thing we need to do is actually connect Composio to Claude. And to do this, we're going to go to the "Connect Agents" tab on the right-hand side here, we're going to click that and then you're going to select the agent. If you're doing this in Chat GPT, you can follow the Chat GPT instructions, but we're going to do this in Claude, so we can click "Install" here, and it gives you the step-by-step process. So you can see, open the "Connectors" menu, which we actually already did, so we're in "Connectors" in Claude here. Then the second section is, we're going to add the "Composio MCP Server". We actually need to add a custom MCP server, a custom connector in Claude. So I'm going to go to my "Connectors", I'm going to click "Add", I'm going to click "Add custom connector", and I'm going to paste that in there, and then I'm going to type "Composio" for the name, and click "Continue". Now mine's already set up, so it's saying it already exists, but if it doesn't, it will automatically like squish them together and you're good to go. Then, inside your Composio connector here, you just need to click the "Connect" button, and that's going to authorize you into Composio through your Claude account. Now once those are connected, we can easily go back into our main chat area of Claude and we've already got our first major upgrade. Because now, instead of Claude guessing my SEO data, I can go in here and I can say, "Can you go into my Google Analytics through Composio and tell me how many website visitors I've had over the last 7 days for halfdaythursdays.com?" So all you have to do is say, "I want to go into my Google Analytics, I want you to use Composio to go there," and then ask the request. What how many visitors have I had the last 7 days for halfdaythursdays.com. If you have multiple websites on your Google Analytics account, you can go and check all of them if you want or individual ones, so be specific in your prompts there. So now we can see the data that's come through, I've had 1500 visitors over the last 7 days, which is actually awesome. I can see how they're coming through daily and the amount of page views as well on there. And it even gives me a little look as like, hey, it's 5% lower, etc, etc, etc. Do you want me to break down Sunday's traffic by source? "Sure." And then we can break down even further. This is super handy, because if you've ever gone into Google Analytics, 4 it is now, and started clicking around, it's an absolute mess in there. Like I honestly, I'm an SEO expert, or I I was 10 years I did SEO for, and I honestly don't know how to drive this engine. Like it's just so complicated to try and figure out and build these reports, etc, but now Claude can just go and get the information for you. So we've got a breakdown here and it could put it in a report, etc, which is super helpful.
Now I want to go back and add a couple more connectors here for you. The second one is one called "DataForSEO", which I've got connected in here. Again, it's a custom connector we need to set up. So if you go to dataforseo.com, this is an API, essentially, that fuels Claude with all the SEO data. So it can look up particular keywords and how many searches there are for it each month, or it can look up how competitive keywords are. It can analyze your competitor keywords, all that sort of stuff. So it's super powerful and it just pushes more data access into Claude instead of having it hallucinate and make things up because you're not giving it the right information. So go to dataforseo.com here and click "Login" at the top. It'll create you an account. You can sign in here and it's super easy to use. I mean it looks a bit scary in the back end here, but honestly we don't need to spend too much time in the back end because we're going to let Claude do everything. See my balance is actually, I put $50 on there like a while ago, and it reckons my $50 and I use it fairly regularly is going to last me, you know, nearly three years here. I think it gives you $5 free credit to start using this and test this out, so it's actually, you can get started for free usually. Now, we need to connect Data to SEO for Claude, and to do that, you can go to dataforseo.com/modern-context-protocol here, and then it gives you those same instructions that that we just did for Composio. So open Cloud Desktop and go to "Customize" + "Connectors". Copy this custom connector line, so we're going to copy that, we're going to go back to Claude, we're going to go "Add", "Add custom connector", paste that in there and call it "DataForSEO". Spelling is horrible today, and hit "Continue". That's going to connect it all up and sign you in, etc, etc. I've already got mine connected here, so we can reconnect again and again it's going to authorize login into that account. And now this is all connected up. You can see all the tools it can do and the things it can do. It can check your LLM mentions, your AI mentions. It can look at keyword data search volume. It can find backlinks. It can oh, I can do pretty much everything that any SEO person would need to do, which is awesome. It can pull analytics and everything, it can look at page speed, all sorts of things which is super helpful when we come to actually doing the work. So, again, if we go into a Claude here, we say, "Can you use DataForSEO to tell me how many monthly keyword searches there are for AI training course?" Here we go, you can see it's using the DataForSEO connector to go and pull that search volume for us. So we can see the average monthly searches, it knows I'm in the UK, which is great, 1000 people per month in the UK are looking for AI training courses, 3,500 in the US, and it even gives us some competitive scoring in here, which is, obviously that's a highly competitive term at the moment. But the high CPC, the high cost per click on an ad that someone would run on this, rather than the organic signal, is high, which is a useful signal if you've got a really high cost per click number coming through. Then it means it's a really valuable search term. People are obviously willing to bid a lot of money to secure those clicks, which is a good signal in that probably useful to rank for. So, in an ideal world, we would love keywords that are super high the ad competition is really low, but the cost per click is really high. I mean, those are pretty much golden nuggets which are rare, but that's an ideal setup that we want. Now, the third connector as well, this is the third and final one you're going to need, is one that's already in Claude, it's called "Firecrawl". And Firecrawl just allows Claude to actually search the web more deeply and extract page and document context. So it can actually read and pull the information from many more pages than the traditional web search feature. So I suggest you go and hit "Connect" and connect up Firecrawl and create an account there. Again, it's free to start using, so you really don't actually have to pay anything to get started for any of this stuff. Once you have Composio with Google Analytics, etc, connected, you have DataForSEO connected, and you have Firecrawl connected, we're ready to actually kick things off. Next we want to go and create a Claude project that's going to act as our SEO expert. So, we're going to go into Claude and we're going to go to "Projects" and I'm going to click "New Project". I'm going to call this like "Half Day Thursdays SEO Expert". You can put a description if in if you want to identify it. This doesn't actually change how the the project behaves and then we're going to click "Create Project". The second thing is we need to give it some instructions. Instructions are key because they it's they they pretty much tell the project why it exists and some key rules to follow and the outcomes we're looking for. So you want to give it some custom instructions like this. You can copy this here, and you can go, and by the way, this is my AI recipe, I'll put a link in the documentation below where you can go into my AI recipe vault, this thing is filed away in here for you to go and grab. You can see at the bottom here, "Optimise your website for AI search and SEO". I'm going to drop this to the top so everyone can find it here, but you can basically get all the prompts etc in this document and follow along with them. But we will scroll back down and we will grab this first set of custom instructions here, and we will go back to our Claude projects, click "Add", and paste those custom instructions in here. I'm just going to fill in some information. It needs some context. So it's like we'll put HTTPS, halfdaythursdays.com, in here. Basically any square brackets in here you want to go and fill in, but otherwise you can kind of tweak and customize these for yourself, but these will run pretty well out the box. You can see it tells it where to go and fetch data from, using Google Search Console and Google Analytics through Composio, for example. And we can save those instructions. So you'll see every time you open that up, those instructions will apply. And now I could say in the chat here, because we're in a sandbox product, I could say, "Who are you and what do you do?" Claude comes back and it knows straight away it's like, "I'm your AI and AI search or your SEO and AI search advisor for halfdaythursdays.com". Always use real numbers, read the live page first, rank by payoff, explain jargon, etcetera. It knows the job it's there to do, who it is and how it should perform. It's got those key rules in there. The next thing is we need to add some context. We need to give it, you know, more information about our business so it knows how to rank us and what to rank us for, rather than if I just tell it I'm like, "Oh yeah I'm an AI training company," it's pretty loose. It's not really deep enough context for actually what we do at Half Day Thursdays and how we go about things. So we need to add way more context to what it's going to do. Now, fortunately, we've set up some great web research tools to help us build this context. So in our file here, we've got the "Build About My Business" from your website file that's tailored towards SEO, basically. So I'm going to take this prompt and I'm going to go back into Claude here and we're going to work in the main project area. We're going to keep everything working in this project from now on, so when we get down to scheduling actions and memory, etc, we're all working in the same place. But I'm going to paste this in here, and the prompt is, this is a nicely written but pretty detailed prompt to work through things step by step. You're April Dunford, positioning consultant and author of Obviously Awesome. If you're wanting a book about positioning your business, Obviously Awesome is obviously awesome. But a lot of people miss a lot of stuff on their website and they don't really have their positioning dialed. So this is going to help you get that as well. Objective, build an "About My Business" document from my website so every later prompt in this project and every AI assistant reading my site works from accurate facts about what I sell, to whom, and why me. We don't actually need to put the website context in here as well because we've already given it actually in the project instructions, but if you were using this prompt separately, then you could use it. Pages to read homepage, about, every product or service page, pricing, contact, case studies and testimonials. Find them from the navigation and sitemap. Facts the site doesn't state that I want included, optional, paste notes. I'm actually going to delete this line because we're not actually going to go through that bit yet. And then it's going to work through the task, flag any gaps, mark anything missing, missing, and anything vague or contradictory as unclear, with the page it came from. What comes back, a markdown document titled "About My Business" with the eight headings above, in plain factual sentences, no marketing language under one page. Then a numbered list of the questions I need to answer to clear every missing and unclear, nothing invented. Very quickly, we get this document back. I've read halfdaythursdays.com page by page and built the "About My Business" document from what the site actually says. It's actually come back with some questions because clearly I don't have enough information on my website that I actually need to confirm, but what this business does, who it serves, the products and services in here, competitive alternatives, like it's got some missing stuff in here, so we actually need to go and fill in the rest of these gaps, otherwise we're going to be struggling. So let's go through step by step the questions to answer. For my Half Day Thursdays, we're an AI community, essentially, where we go way deeper than this and we set up some more automated systems than just prompt-by-prompt. But number one, what does the membership cost? So the membership cost at the moment is $170 a month or $1700 annually US dollars and obviously the annual gives you two months free there. Live sessions are every Wednesday at 4:00 PM UK time 11:00 AM Eastern time. They alternate between a workshop and a Q&A on this fortnightly alternating process. The free masterclass doesn't have another date yet. Customer is small business owners and solopreneurs who are the business and want to delegate the stuff they hate doing to AI so they can focus on what they love doing. Some people sell AI services or want to become an AI consultant, but it's not the core starting point for people. It's for people to build an AI native business. A lot of people go on to help other people's. A good prospect might continue just learning for themselves on YouTube or they might take other community programs, school groups they might go to Udemy to learn. The featured in logo was for me specifically my name rather than Half Day Thursdays for Elliot Prince my personal brand. We've got over 200 members now, and we have a ton of wins in our community already. For example, we have someone who's saved over 2000 pounds on subscriptions that she no longer needs because she's connecting Claude to everything. People who have built bartending apps for their side hustle, people who are running my full SEO GEO process to make sure they get the recommended expertise, people using the Instinct AI platform to delegate some of their boring work or their boring life admin, people building marketing workflows that just automate whole processes, even taking marketing campaigns from two or three hours down to 30 minutes with human reviews in the loop. We can add more proof if we need a future point. We started working on the 18th of September was the first day our community actually opened. We have a privacy policy already on the site with registered address etc. We sell worldwide, mainly to the UK and the US, but we have some in Europe as well. Yes, that's the correct email, and you can cancel at any time on both subscriptions, particularly on the monthly subscription. So, give all that extra context, I just used Whisperflow there to just go and like brain dump my answers back to it rather than typing it out and it's going to update this "About My Business" document for anything that it's like, oh, I I didn't see that information anywhere. Like I think it missed my privacy policy out there. Now once Claude has gone through and added those pieces of information, I'm not going to go through tooth by tooth here, but I would advise making sure that everything is cleared up when you're doing this for yourself here. When you're happy with this "About My Business" document, you can go into the top right here and you can click "Add to project". We can take all of this that we've just built and researched, and we can add it to the project, and then when we click that and we go back to our main Half Day Thursdays SEO project here, we can see this context file is in here. So as we build, we can really easily just add things to the project. If we build a strategy, we can just add it to a project. If we have a full audit run, which we're going to do in a minute, we just add it to the context there so we can always have that as a reference, which is awesome, awesome, awesome to do. You see, we've only used 1% of project capacity. So we're never going to fill that up. Now let's move on to step three, because we've still got some gaps here. And I read a staggering stat the other day, which was something like 95% of business owners believe their website is exhausted and has everything they can imagine on it, but 80% of consumers believe that most websites don't have anywhere near enough information and there's so many gaps in the knowledge. So, that's what we're going to do next because a great website is not just good for AI or SEO, it's good for the actual reader. And when you think about it, if we've got all the correct information on our website, not only are we going to rank higher in Google searches and AI searches because we've got all that context and information that someone might be looking for, such as like maybe I didn't have my pricing on my website or something, and someone types into Google, how much is Half Day Thursday's membership? If I haven't published that, there's not going to be an answer in an AI or overview or a chat GPT or anything like that, it will be guessing. It's not ideal. So, we can actually go and find all of these. What find what a stranger can't learn from your site prompt. So we're going to take this prompt and again, we're going to go in our file here. We've got the "build about my business" file that's tailored towards SEO, basically. So I'm going to take this prompt and I'm going to go back into Claude here, and we're going to work in the main project area. We're going to keep everything working in this project from now on. So when we get down to scheduling actions and memory, etc, we're all working in the same place. But I'm going to paste this in here, and the prompt is, this is a nicely written but pretty detailed prompt to work through things step by step. You're Marcus Sheridan, author of They Ask, You Answer, known for growing a pool company by publicly answering every question buyers ask, cost, problems, comparisons, reviews and best of. You judge a website by how many buyer questions it leaves unanswered. Objective, find what a first-time buyer and an AI assistant can't learn from my website, so I know exactly what content to add to stop losing customers to competitors who answer more. Again, we don't need the site URL because we already know that, and we can just keep this actually pretty light. Main service and location people search for, a for AI training for small business owners. AI course and community for small business, is a rough search grouping. I'm just going to give it a bit of direction there, but essentially it's going to work through the following: the buyer read, read my site as a first-time buyer, list the questions they'd ask before buying, across the big five, cost, problems, and risks, comparisons and alternatives, reviews and proof, best of. Mark each as answered, partly answered or not answered, with the page. The AI read, if Chat GPT was looking at this site, what would it come up with? List what an AI assistant would confidently recommend me, clear service description, location, pricing, proof, distinctive facts, and whether my site provides each. The competitor read, read the three competitors, list what they answer that I don't. What comes back, one table, ranked by how likely the gap is to cost me a sale. Gap buyer question, answered by me, competitor, nobody, exact content to add. Page it belongs on. 15 lines. Max 15 lines. Then, some of the single biggest gaps. So we can run that prompt, and again, we can just leave Claude to go and get to work. It might ask you some questions along the way, so don't expect it to always do it in one shot. You'll see that straight away it starts to use the DataForSEO connector here, you can see in the prompt here, it's just automatically gone and started pulling data for some of those keywords, looked at some of my competitors and pulled their data as well, to start getting its results and building its catalog. Okay so now, actually the report that we got back I was banging on with my example, "how much is it?" All competitors have their pricing in there, and I haven't got my pricing directly on my website, so my payment gate instead. So this is a key bit of information that like, especially I think about it now, anytime I go on to any tool or any platform, the first button I'm usually clicking after I'm, you know, do I need this maybe, is pricing, because I want to say, is this even in my budget? So, maybe I should be getting that on there or I should be. We've got a comparison, and you know one of the great SEO tactics is making sure you have a comparison about like the other options. What are the other options that they could choose and compare myself or my business against those ones to get an independent read for people and why they should probably join my platform versus competitors. Some risk factors, we've got some proof. Competitors have a lot more proof and I haven't got a lot of my member wins and some of the great stories that have been coming out over the last few months which we've just got so much stuff coming through that we need to get on the website, so we actually need to go and fill in the rest of these gaps, otherwise we're going to be struggling. So let's go through step by step the questions to answer for my Half Day Thursdays with an AI community, essentially, where we go way deeper than this and we set up some more automated systems than just prompt-by-prompt. But number one, what does the membership cost? The membership cost at the moment is $170 a month or $1700 annually. US dollars and obviously the annual gives you two months free there. Live sessions are every Wednesday at 4:00 PM UK time, 11:00 AM Eastern time. They alternate between a workshop and a Q&A on this four-night fortnightly, fortnightly alternating process. So, give all that extra context, I just used Whisperflow there to just go and like brain dump my answers back to it rather than typing it out, and it's going to update this "About My Business" document for anything that it's like oh, I I didn't see that information anywhere, like I think it missed my privacy policy out there. If we have a full audit run, which we're going to do in a minute, we just add it to the context there, so we can always have that as a reference, which is awesome, awesome, awesome to do. You see, we've only used 1% of project capacity. So we're never going to fill that up. Now let's move on to step three, because we've still got some gaps here. And I read a staggering stat the other day, which was something like 95% of business owners believe their website is exhausted and has everything they can imagine on it, but 80% of consumers believe that most websites don't have anywhere near enough information, and there's so many gaps in the knowledge. So, that's what we're going to do next, because a great website is not just good for AI or SEO, it's good for the actual reader. I'm just going to give it a bit of direction there, but essentially it's going to work through the following, the buyer read, read my site as a first-time buyer, list the questions they'd ask before buying, across the big five, cost, problems, and risks, comparisons and alternatives, reviews and proof, best of. So, give all that extra context, I just used Whisperflow there to just go and like brain dump my answers back to it rather than typing it out, and it's going to update this "About My Business" document for anything that it's like oh, I I didn't see that information anywhere, like I think it missed my privacy policy out there. I'm just going to give it a bit of direction there, but essentially it's going to work through the following, the buyer read, read my site as a first-time buyer, list the questions they'd ask before buying, across the big five, cost, problems, and risks, comparisons and alternatives, reviews and proof, best of. So, give all that extra context, I just used Whisperflow there to just go and like brain dump my answers back to it rather than typing it out, and it's going to update this "About My Business" document for anything that it's like oh, I I didn't see that information anywhere, like I think it missed my privacy policy out there. We can take all of this that we've just built and researched, and we can add it to the project, and then when we click that and we go back to our main Half Day Thursdays SEO project here, we can see this context file is in here. So as we build, we can really easily just add things to the project. If we build a strategy, we can just add it to a project. I'm just going to give it a bit of direction there, but essentially it's going to work through the following, the buyer read, read my site as a first-time buyer, list the questions they'd ask before buying, across the big five, cost, problems, and risks, comparisons and alternatives, reviews and proof, best of. So, give all that extra context, I just used Whisperflow there to just go and like brain dump my answers back to it rather than typing it out, and it's going to update this "About My Business" document for anything that it's like oh, I I didn't see that information anywhere
