Purpose and Problem Solved
Standard analytics suites typically report sessions and bounce rates, leaving founders in the dark regarding actual return on investment. Inspired by DataFast, Minilytics focuses on tracking revenue attribution. It captures referral sources—such as specific tweets, articles, Google searches, or AI assistants—and maps visitor actions directly to sales.
Tech Stack and Project Maturity
The project is implemented in TypeScript and designed to run within Cloudflare's free operational limits. This serverless approach eliminates running costs and server maintenance overheads for indie developers. With more than 700 GitHub stars, 170+ forks, and an MIT licence, the project shows solid traction among self-hosters and developers. Alongside the repository, a dedicated platform site operates at minilytics.app, presenting a lightweight and cost-effective alternative for product attribution tracking.
