Arc UI: Animated React Components for shadcn and Next.js

X postEliaTool

Elia highlighted a smooth share sheet interaction built with Arc UI, a library featuring 153 motion-enabled React components and 89 UI blocks for Next.js and shadcn.

Key points

  1. Arc UI includes 153 React components and 89 full interface blocks with built-in animations.
  2. Components can be installed using the shadcn CLI or copied directly into project source code.
  3. AI coding tools like Claude, Cursor, and Codex are supported via an llms.txt index and Markdown documentation.
  4. The shared demo shows a share sheet morphing smoothly from a trigger button into an interactive panel.
  5. The library includes a Pro tier for advanced motion components and respects user reduced-motion preferences.

Why it matters

Adding fluid micro-interactions to web applications is often time-consuming. Arc UI blends the flexibility of shadcn’s copy-paste architecture with ready-made animations and AI-friendly documentation, making polished interfaces easier to ship.

Analysis

The showcase highlights growing demand for polished micro-interactions in the React ecosystem. While the demo received strong positive responses for its smooth visual style, community feedback pointed out potential issues with animation pacing and layout jitter. Elia acknowledged this, exploring faster and snappier timing to ensure consistency across components.

  • @darylginn @eliakuratli I like the idea, but I would argue there is too much happening here. The intro/outro animation is unstable, causing jittering elements. The avatar animation is also slow and tedious, and there's also a lot of inconsistent paddings/gaps which could be refined.
  • @aviralj02 @eliakuratli going to make me share more if thats the share cta
  • @emanueledpt @eliakuratli damn this is smooth
  • @aaapinen @eliakuratli followed. networking with a generous definition of effort
  • @omkarships @eliakuratli Looks great man 👏
