Design Studio Founder Halts Motion Designer Hiring Due to Opus 5.5

X postMiles29 September 2026Opinion

Design studio founder Miles announced that his agency is no longer hiring motion designers, citing the capabilities of Opus 5.5 for generating launch videos and motion graphics.

Key points

Studio founder Miles states his company is no longer hiring motion designers.
He argues that Opus 5.5 delivers exceptionally strong results for launch videos and motion design.
According to Miles, a showcased demo video required only three prompts.

Why it matters

The statement reflects the ongoing debate regarding the extent to which generative AI tools are replacing specialised creative roles.

Analysis

The post is provocative and deliberately brief. Miles bases his hiring stance on a single demo generated via three prompts using Opus 5.5. Public feedback highlights that while automated tools produce quick visuals, they often lack intentional storytelling and brand differentiation.
