Litter: Open-source mobile client for local AI agents

X post0xSeroTool

0xSero highlighted a toolkit for local AI, featuring Litter, a native iOS and Android application built to interface with local and remote AI agents.

Key points

  1. Native client for iOS and Android supporting Codex, Claude, OpenCode, Pi, and Droid.
  2. Connection options include local network auto-discovery, SSH, and Alleycat P2P QR pairing across NATs and firewalls without VPNs.
  3. Includes real-time voice input, multi-agent parallel workflows, and more than 70 editor themes.
  4. Free and open-source, promoted alongside local.ai and localstudio.ai under the ethos 'Yours to keep'.

Why it matters

Running agents on local hardware often tethers developers to desktop terminals. Providing a native, peer-to-peer mobile interface bridges the gap between self-hosted setups and on-the-go interaction.

Analysis

The release reflects an ongoing push towards local-first AI tooling. By offering zero-config pairing (Alleycat) alongside direct SSH, Litter removes networking hurdles that typically deter developers from controlling private agents remotely.

  • @brown59fifty @0x413x @jkomyno @0xSero "huggingface for local" is exactly what hf is at its core, repo for models which can be run locally. (btw locally doesn't mean consumer-grade hw.) This is more like eval/benchmarking place with howtos, build around actual hardware specs. (localstudio piece is a wrapper tho.)
